Job Opportunity: Project Manager

Must have Project Management, communication & technical skills such that the customer’s expectations are always exceeded.

Growing RFID Company is seeking to fill a full time project manager position. We are located in Austin, Texas.

The project manager will be responsible for all aspects of planning and executing projects. A moderate amount of travel is required. The applicant must be versatile and posses a willingness to take on multiple roles and responsibilities. The responsibilities for this position are outlined below:

Project Responsibilities

• Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
• Work with technical team to identify resources needed, assign individual responsibilities, and ensure weekly progress.
• Manage day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope
• Organize and lead all aspects of software lifecycle, including requirements, development, testing & implementation.
• Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
• Track and report team hours and expenses on a weekly basis.
• Order and track appropriate hardware for project.
• Manage client expectations & day-to-day client interaction.
• Effectively facilitate weekly project status meetings (both internal and external)
• Manage and communicate project risks.
• Conduct customer training sessions

Qualifications

• BS Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
• 3-5 year technical experience
• Minimum 2-3 year project management experience
• Hands on technical background required

Technical Competencies
The following competencies are required:

• Networking overview knowledge
• Experience interfacing with and setting up software and hardware
• Experience troubleshooting and debugging systems
• Mechanical aptitude for setting up hardware
• Hands-on technical problem solving skills

The following competencies are not required but desirable:

• Familiarity with mobile devices & RFID technology
• Server and network security knowledge

The applicant must have effective communication skills as they will be working with clients to achieve successful implementation. The applicant must be self-motivated and have the ability to make decisions using sound judgment. This person must be an independent worker, organized and detail oriented.

The appropriate applicant will have the opportunity to develop this position into a role managing multiple projects across several industries. Knowledge of RFID technology a benefit but not required as training will be provided.
